Holidays in Spain. Incomparable Barcelona
Barcelona is considered one of the most sought after cities for tourists and travelers around the world. The reason for this is the large number of various excursions that are provided to city guests, interesting architectural and historical monuments, as well as a unique opportunity to see the rarest copies of the most famous artists.
Barcelona is conveniently located in a beautiful area of Mediterranean climate. As a result – warm winters and very hot summer months. The coldest time is January and February, but the temperature here still does not drop below +10 degrees. The hottest time is the last two months of summer, the average temperature of which is +25 degrees. Most precipitation falls in October, and least of all – in July.
In Barcelona, there is now a huge number of architectural monuments and various attractions. The “heart” of the city is the famous pedestrian zone – Rambla Boulevard. He stretched a kilometer through the city. At the beginning of the boulevard is a huge statue of Columbus made of bronze, and at the end – a beautiful Jesuit church. Fancy figures of fairy-tale heroes are placed around the boulevard. If you throw a coin in a special box, then they come to life, thereby surprising passers-by. This is a good part-time job for students at local universities.
To the right of the boulevard is the Gothic Quarter. This is a stone exhibition with small shops, cafes and taverns. The center of the quarter is the Palace of the Government of Catalonia and the City Hall, and the Grand Royal Palace with the Cathedral is built nearby. Today, Barcelona Cathedral is the ideal of Catalan Gothic. Very close to them is the museum of the world famous artist Pablo Picasso. Here are collected more than three and a half thousand paintings.
Almost in the center of Barcelona is the beautiful Sagrada Familia. It was created under the careful guidance of Gaudi himself. His most famous work is the Facade of the Nativity, which includes four richly decorated towers.
Mount Tibidado is the highest point in all of Barcelona. It offers a stunning view of the whole city. At its top is the Temple of the Sacred Heart. There is also a city amusement park and a large museum of mechanical toys.
A popular place for visiting tourists is the so-called Spanish village. This is a town of artisans with tents of merchants, restaurants, exhibitions and concerts. In addition, the village is a major architectural museum. In principle, if you visit this village, you can assume that they have visited almost all of Spain.
The most famous place for shopping in Barcelona is the Maremagnum complex. In it, in addition to the shops themselves, there are cafes, cinemas and even dance floors. In the old part of the city there is a store called “Sereria Subira”, considered the oldest in this city. Now this store specializes in the sale of candles.
But shopping is far from the only attraction for tourists. Of particular interest is a visit to the famous “Singing Fountains” and theater performances. It is worth noting the many first-class restaurants where you can try dishes from the local inhabitants of the sea.
